Pre-Wedding Evening Party at Casual Place
Hi, I am at a loss as what to wear for the above mentioned party (an evening event the night before the wedding at a casual place). I feel that a suit with shirt and tie is way overboard for the kind of evening it'll be plus the fact that it's in a kind of working man's club so speak is making it even harder.
I thougt maybe a really smart polo shirt with trousers and shoes might suffice? I'd appreciate any help with this dilemma!

The outfit you describe sounds perfect. If you'd like options beyond the polo shirt, you could wear a fine-knit plain T (either short- or long-sleeved) as long as it has a dressy feel. My favorite option is a casual buttondown shirt with the sleeves rolled a few turns back; that's a great look on a guy.
As for the shoes, as long as they're not sneakers or in bad shape, you should be fine. Have a fabulous time!
