I attend a project based school. We have two months to finish our projects, this time around i wanted to do something i was interested in--fashion.(I am going to become a fashion designer). My topic is on the importance of fashion, so can you tell me what affect does fashion have on the community? What is the history of fashion? And overall what is fashion?

As for what fashion is, I think it's what is considered "of the moment," something that strikes a common note in a large number of people because it relates to the times in some way. It's very different from style, which is more endudring and unique.  There can be an element of fashion in personal style. You might check some fashion industry resources and design schools for a more ofificial definition. Good luck with your project!
