Banana Republic |
We're addicted. We can't help it. Someone please confiscate our "Banana Republic" credit card. With a constantly updated series of fresh looks at mostly affordable prices, great colors, and fantastic fitting pants and jeans (except right now for some reason all their jeans are low-rise, ick), Banana Republic is a fantastic fashion resource. |
Kenneth Cole |
The man. The legend. Did you know that he actually designs his heels so that the sole is slightly wider right where the ball of your foot hits the floor, so the shoes are more comfortable, you wear a half-size smaller than you do in most other brands, and your feet look AMAZING? I have Kenneth Cole heels I've had for 9 years; I just had them resoled and they're still in style. Plus all his shoes have great names and the man loves a good pun. What's not to love? |
White House, Black Market |
I adore this store. Their clothes are primarily black, white, and cream, but every so often they do a color collection. RIght now it's red and it's amazing. Their pants fit beautifully and make you look slimmer; their pencil skirts are gorgeous, and their sweaters and vests are always creative and have just a bit of an edge. Their clothes last really well also; some items I've had and have been wearing for years. And don't get me started on their jewelry--it's so creative and beautiful, and I get compliments every time I wear one of their pieces. White House, Black Market also has a membership program that gives you 5% off every purchase, as well as special offers, a $10 gift card on your birthday, and other special deals throughout the year. |
Macy's |
My favorite big department store, with great affordable style. In addition to national brands, their private brands (especially INC International Concepts) are terrific. A huge percentage of my wardrobe is INC. A few years ago, they made a series of stretchy, fitted turtlenecks I wore for years. I still have one or two that aren't completely worn out, and this year's skinny cargo pants are wonderful--they sit just below the waist so they don't cause muffin top, they're comfy, and they look fantastic. Especially with booties. I could spend days in the NYC Herald Square flagship store, which is 8 floors of fantastic merchandise beautifully merchandised. There are two full floors of shoes, and the in-store boutiques are wonderful. Don't miss the kitchen store in the basement--such fun and eclectic items! They have a ton of sales, and offer additional discounts with your Macy's card so you can almost always get a great deal. Macy's, you got it. |
Ideeli |
Ideeli offers daily, limited time sales from up and coming labels as well as top brands. The sales are huge discounts, the merchandise is great, and you never know what you're going to find. Plus, I got a $25 credit when my friend signed up, gave my name as referring her, and made a purchase! Cool! I got a gorgeous Kenneth Cole Reaction down anorak with fake fur-trimmed hood from ideeli, as well as various and sundry Christmas gifts! |
